Here Are Key Preparation Tips for Your Dental Implant SurgeryDental implants are the preferred solution for missing teeth, as they can help patients restore the complete functionality and appearance of their smile. Although it is possible to place an implant in most edentulous patients, there are some things to take into account before undergoing the procedure so you can get the best results.

Get An Intensive Dental Examination

Before surgery, a previous dental examination with our team is necessary to evaluate your situation and determine if you meet all the requirements to receive an implant. During this examination, we will decide which treatment plan to use, and determine if you are allergic to certain anesthesia methods or if your jaw needs preparation. We also encourage patients to ask us about their inquiries regarding the procedure so they can better understand it.

Store Plenty of Food and Drinks

During your first days of recovery post-op, it may be difficult for you to get up and go to the grocery store, so we recommend that you buy and prepare soft foods and nutritional drinks ahead of the surgery. Have your water stocked up, as well.

Ask About Sedation Options

The comfort of our patients is our priority. If a patient feels uneasy about the dental implant surgery, we offer a range of sedation options that they can choose to receive so they can undergo the procedure without experiencing discomfort or pain.

Rest Well

We highly recommend getting plenty of sleep a day prior to your dental implant surgery. Dental implant surgery, like any other medical procedure, gives your body some stress levels, so having a good rest before an appointment can help to reduce your worries. Having plenty of sleep also assists in kick-starting the healing process after the surgery. Please contact our offices today and learn about the various tips for preparing yourself for dental implant surgery.
